Karate Kid was one of those restaurants that I simply ignore when I happen to pass by in front of. However, upon the suggestion of a friend,  I gave it a try! In this blog post, I will share with you a good food experience albeit not ultimately excellent!

The Food

Lately, I've developed a huge craving on sashimis, so when I found out that they were offering one variant of it (i.e. Tuna Sashimi), I decided to include it in my order without any hesitations.

Tuna Sashimi 6 pcs || P82

The Tuna Sashimi was definitely a good deal! I know the quality and freshness was not that top-notch, but it was more than decent enough to satisfy my cravings for it. Considering the money I paid for it, it was already fantastic for me! In other words, you may see me eating this dish again in the future!

Takoyaki 8 pcs. - Regular || P69

Takayoki is indeed a favorite Japanese dish or snack for me! Yeah, I know this is by far not the best I've tasted so far, but it was not half as bad. In fact, I really appreciated because of the authentic squid found inside the takayoki. Many small stores use extenders or only flavored starch for the squid, so I felt assured of the quality with Karate Kid's takoyaki. the downside however was that I found the sauce a little more sweet than savory which what it should have been based on the taste I have in mind.

Sizzling Spicy Squid Tempura || P99

The squid dish was interesting because of the sweet yet flavorful sauce. Although I found the texture a little more soft that what is usual (because I usually enjoy a little crunch in my squid, but not to the point that it becomes chewy),  it was still enjoyable. My only issue with this was the lack (or absence, even) of the spiciness. To wit, it was as if what we ordered was just "Sizzling Spicy Squid Tempura"

Thank goodness I happened to try out this Japanese casual restaurant! Due to its affordability and beyond-okay taste, I definitely urge you to give it a try as well. However, do not expect a very fancy experience. Keep in mind that what this restaurant will provide you is joy from the maximized value for money. In other words, if your priority is taste and adventure, then this may not be for you. On the other had, if you enjoy good quality yet affordable Japanese dishes, then go for this one.

PS (on service): I waited a bit longer than what they promised, so this one is a reduction on the service rating.
